Role Overview :
This position will serve as an inspector on INDOT construction projects. Candidates will be responsible for recording the contractor's operations, ensuring work is completed to INDOT standards, bringing concerns to the attention of the project engineer.

Scheduled hours will typically be 7.5 hours per day Monday - Friday within a 7:00am-5:00pm window. However, some schedule variability including weekends, nights, and greater than 7.5 hours per day may be required.
Prior relevant experience is considered when determining the salary offer for the selected candidate.
Candidates who have not completed INDOT's Certified Technician Program are eligible to be hired under the "Highway Technician 2" designation with a minimum starting salary of $42,900.
Candidates who have not completed INDOT's Certified Technician Program will complete it as part of their employment and become eligible to promote to an HT1 during their employment.
Selected candidates will be required to obtain a Class B CDL within the first 90 days of employment through on-the-job training and testing. Once obtained, the employee will receive a $1/hour raise to their base pay.

This position is located in INDOT’s Crawfordsville District.
CDL Positions :
Candidates with a current CDL will earn an additional $1 per hour for this position. Candidates without a CDL will be given 90 days to obtain their CDL, with training provided by INDOT, and will then earn an additional $1 per hour upon successfully obtaining their CDL.
Pay Rate:
This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $24.26 but may be commensurate with education and work experience.
