POSITION SUMMARY :
The Equipment Maintenance Technician (EMT) is responsible for maintaining production equipment, tools and facilities in good working condition and operating optimally. The EMT will perform preventative maintenance tasks, repairs and troubleshooting to minimize unplanned downtime and maximize productivity.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform preventative maintenance and repair tasks in a timely manner and keeps clear maintenance logs
- Perform methodical troubleshooting of production equipment, replaces defective components and makes recommendations for improvement
- Ability to use a variety of hand and powered tools and testing equipment
- Able to read mechanical and electrical equipment plans
- Support installation of new equipment as required
- Participate in the creation and implementation of training programs for other maintenance employees or operators
- Prepare labor and equipment estimates and manage RFQs
- Follow safety procedures per the Company’s policies and State and Federal regulation s
- Work with vendors and consultants to troubleshoot and repair electrical and control related issues
- Assists in keeping spare parts inventory levels
- Gathers information for new and/or existing equipment
- Managing expenses within approved budget with Warehouse Manager oversight
- Lead by example. Promote an environment of clear, open and constructive communication with internal and external stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma/GED or Trade school diploma focused on technology and equipment
- 8+ yrs. experience in equipment reliability and maintenance
- Experience with electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge and experience with controls systems is a plus
- Forklift certification
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Place of Employment is located in Locust Grove, GA, a warehouse/building with amenities
- This position may require the EMT to make themselves available at any given time as requested by senior management
- May require working in tight spaces and handling sharp or heavy materials
- The warehouse environment may expose employees to heavy machinery, warm and cold temperatures, and occasional noise
- Possible travel and on-site work, if needed
